Spears 436-G Series PVC Pipe Fitting, Adapter, Schedule 40, Gray, 4" NPT Male x 4" Socket

This Spears adapter pipe fitting, in gray, is made of schedule 40 PVC and has a male NPT end connection and a socket end connection. This adapter fitting connects pipes or fittings with different end types. It has male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads on one end for connecting to female threaded pipe and a female socket connection on the other end for sliding over a male unthreaded pipe. The NPT threads create a tighter seal than straight threads, and the socket end connects to pipes with a smooth bore for enhanced flow. This schedule 40 (standard wall) fitting is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for corrosion resistance, high strength, and less weight than fittings made from metal. It is compatible with schedule 40 PVC pipes and fittings. PVC can be connected to other materials such as steel, copper, or cast iron using transition fittings.
